Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal

Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal is a Public Charitable Trust registered under the Societies Registration Act and Bombay Public Trust Act. From its humble beginnings in 1934, when it took over the Rashtriya Shala, a school established in 1921 in the wake of the National Movement, the Mandal today has grown into a big educational organization imparting high-level education to more than 35,000 students

Over the past 80 years, the Mandal has developed a large educational complex in Vile Parle in Suburban Mumbai and has spread its wings to metro cities like, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Ahmadabad, Navi Mumbai, Indore, etc., SVKM today is proud of some of the finest educational institutes in the country like NMIMS deemed to be University, N.M. College of Commerce and Economics, Mithibai College, D.J. Sanghvi College of Engineering, Bhagubhai Mafatlal Polytechnic to name a few. It has also in its family, schools from Nursery to Secondary, Jr. College providing ICSE, IB, IGCSE and CBSE curriculum. With a strong vision and passion for being the pioneers of the modern education system, all SVKM institutes are state of the art, with ever expanding facilities and infrastructure to foster innovation, and address pressing global challenges.

SVKM's NMIMS

What started with baby steps in 1981 as NMIMS, has today emerged as a globally reputed university. Always socially conscious, the Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) made the decision to cater to the rising demand of management institutes in the country. This led to the birth of the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS). It began humbly by offering two-year full-time master’s programme in management studies with 4 full time faculty, 3162 books and an intake of 40 students above Bhaidas Hall, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai. From its temporary location at Bhaidas auditorium, NMIMS moved to a large complex of over 5,50,000 sq feet where it stands today as a landmark in the heart of Mumbai at Vile Parle, an affluent suburb of the city.

Built on this inspiring legacy, today, NMIMS stands proud as a Deemed-to-be-University offering programs in multiple disciplines across multiple campuses. What started as an institute in a small building has caught the attention of the world, thanks to their 17 specialized schools. More than 17000 students and about 750 full-time faculty members, 10 faculty members with Fulbright Scholarship and Humboldt International Scholarship for post-doctoral researchers are part of India's most sought after academic community. The consistent academic quality, research focus, faculty from top national and global institutes and strong industry linkages at NMIMS have placed it amongst the nation's prime centers of educational excellence and research today.

Keeping pace with the ever-evolving education scenario and to meet international standards, NMIMS has taken major initiatives in terms of programs, curriculum development, international linkages, placements and students’ development. It has transformed into a globalized centre of learning, providing its students a balanced exposure to research, academics and practical aspects of the industry.

Mukesh Patel Technology Park (MPTP)

SVKM’s NMIMS, Mukesh Patel Technology Park, Shirpur Campus is an integrated campus approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. SVKM’S NMIMS Shirpur Campus is an affiliate of NMIMS (Deemed-to-be-University), which has been accredited with A+ Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and has been recognized as a Tier 1 University by University Grants Commission (UGC). The picturesque riverside campus of NMIMS, Shirpur Campus, has a rich tradition of pursuing academic excellence and offers industry-oriented academic programs and excellent research infrastructure to equip its students with the skill set required to succeed in industry. It offers programs in Engineering, Pharmacy, Agriculture and Textiles. The multi-disciplinary nature of programs offered on campus allows it to impart an inter-disciplinary education to all its students. Faculty members have been carefully chosen so as to provide the right exposure and experience from industry and academia to the students. Regular interactions with experts from industry as well as the industry internship program ensures that students are well-equipped to understand the demands and expectations from industry. In addition, the University has also tied up with industry major IBM & leading international learning platform, Coursera, to ensure that its students have access to the latest cutting-edge curriculum. The campus endeavors to provide a holistic education to all its students, laying emphasis on all round development of the individual. NMIMS Shirpur is a residential campus, which ensures that there are plenty of opportunities for students to learn even beyond the classrooms. Shirpur is one of the best towns in Maharashtra located in Dhule District, which has the border touching to Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. It is well connected by Road and Rail to Mumbai in Maharashtra, to Indore in Madhya Pradesh and to Vadodara in Gujarat. Shirpur is a perfect example of a model township which has been developed by local organizations under the leadership of Hon'ble Shri. Amrishbhai Patel, MLC, Maharashtra, President SVKM and Chancellor, SVKM's NMIMS, Mumbai, India. The Shirpur campus has also received DEWANG MEHTA, National Education Best Campus Award in 2015.

Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering (MPSTME), Shirpur

Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering, Shirpur embarked on its journey in 2007 as a small family but has since experienced remarkable growth over nearly 16 years. MPSTME Shirpur, located in the heart of North Maharashtra, has emerged as one of the premier engineering institutes in the region. The institution was founded with the noble mission of establishing an innovative and integrated platform for technology education, infused with strong management principles that align with the ever-evolving needs of both industry and society.

The vision was to nurture engineers who not only possessed solid technical expertise but also had the foresight to apply their knowledge towards creating technology that addresses the dynamic demands of the modern world. Today, MPSTME, Shirpur is a testament to the realization of this vision. With cutting-edge programs like Data Science and AIML, state-of-the-art laboratories, a lush green riverside campus, and world-class infrastructure, MPSTME Shirpur has created an environment conducive to holistic learning and growth.

One noteworthy initiative undertaken by the college is the introduction of a unique five-year MBA.Tech dual degree program in Computer and Data Science. This program merges engineering and management education, producing graduates who are not only technically proficient but also possess essential managerial skills, rendering them well-prepared for the demands of the industry. MPSTME, Shirpur offers a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) program in Computer Engineering (CE), Computer Science (CS), Information Technology (IT), and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML). These programs are designed to provide students with a strong foundational knowledge in their chosen fields.

The journey of MPSTME Shirpur has been marked by several notable achievements, including being awarded the “Best Education Institution in Engineering” by Golden Globe Tiger in 2016. Moreover, the institution’s commitment to infrastructure development is evident in the construction of modern residential complexes equipped with all essential amenities and expansive sports facilities to enhance the student experience.

Center for Textile Functions (CTF), Shirpur

The Centre for Textile Functions (CTF) was established in 2007 as a part of Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering, Shirpur. CTF offers Diploma in Textile Technology program that covers various segments of the textile industry including Spinning, Weaving, Knitting, Garmenting, Chemical Processing, and Technical Textiles. A new concept of “See and learn” and “work and learn” is adopted with Industry support in the CTF programs. CTF signed MOU with Textile Industries at Shirpur Textile Park to facilitate practical sessions, training and project development. The CTF offers a unique educational experience with a focus on practical learning.

Exposure towards Automated Technology in Textile Manufacturing segment is the key potential teaching pedagogy CTF has adopted. Key features include hands-on industrial exposure in the Textile Park, Shirpur, and other textile industries, in-plant training covering various textile manufacturing processes and mentorship by experienced industry professionals. The strengths of CTF lie in its modern infrastructure, industry collaborations for curriculum development and faculty with extensive industrial expertise. Students benefit from practical training, industry-oriented projects and enjoy diverse career opportunities in sectors such as Process Engineering, R&D, Production Control, Technical Sales, Quality Control, Corporate Management, Industrial Engineering, Product Development, Marketing, and more.

School of Pharmacy & Technology Management, Shirpur

The School of Pharmacy and Technology Management, under the visionary goal of establishing an internationally acclaimed pharmacy institution by 2030, is a shining example of academic excellence within SVKM's NMIMS. Our mission revolves around imparting top-tier pharmacy education, fostering cutting-edge research, and nurturing self-reliant pharmacists capable of global competition.

Established in 2007, the School of Pharmacy & Technology Management prides itself on its state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, the use of advanced teaching methods, and a remarkable library infrastructure. At the School of Pharmacy & Technology Management, our mission is to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of pharmacy education and research on a global scale. We hold a prestigious 6-years accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation, ensuring our commitment to maintaining the highest educational standards. What distinguishes us, is our steadfast dedication to staying aligned with industry needs. We regularly seek inputs from industry professionals, present on our Board of Studies, to ensure that, our programs remain finely tuned to meet the demands of the field. Our exceptional faculty members, hailing from diverse backgrounds, both academia and industry, further reinforce our emphasis on providing top-quality education and preparing students for careers in the industry. Research is one of the fundamental pillars of our institution, with our proficient faculty members actively involved in various research areas, such as computer-aided drug design (CADD), the development of analytical methods, innovative approaches to drug delivery systems (NDDS), and the evaluation of the phytochemical and pharmacological properties of drugs. School of Agricultural Sciences & Technology, Shirpur

School of Agricultural Sciences & Technology (SAST) Shirpur started in 2019. The School focuses on teaching, research and outreach, the three arms of agricultural research and education to meet the stakeholders’ aspirations with more participatory approach. SAST has designed an efficient and robust agricultural education curriculum in line with national agricultural education systems as recommended by the ICAR. The skills of prospective graduates are honed through practical training in agriculture and allied sectors; and assurance of learning to develop into future researchers or entrepreneurs. We involve our students in experiential learning projects and agro-industrial attachments wherein they gain expertise beyond academics. The tie-ups with agro-industries and renowned NGOs give an edge during internships. The School committed to bring in a prosperity to the lives of majority of small and marginal farm holders by providing an efficient platform to provide solutions for enhanced farm productivity, profitability and sustainable livelihoods. Within 4 years of its establishment, the School has established a 117-acre farm, state-of-the-art infrastructure, laboratories, and intellectual legacy for making classroom and practical learning more enjoyable and intriguing. Placements, patent publication, and laurels in hackathons are some of the significant achievements of the very first batch. The legacy left by them motivates the successive batches.
